Science plays an essential role in national security for many countries, including the United States. Military intelligence relies heavily on research and knowledge from the social and behavioral sciences to form analyses and predictions. This contribution helps reduce uncertainty and provide warnings about ranging topics from international diplomatic relations to overseas conflicts. As these complex challenges continue, the involvement of social sciences will grow.
