This year marks the 150th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences, a landmark that would not be possible without the perseverance and courage of President Abraham Lincoln.  In 1863, during the Civil War, President Lincoln founded the National Academy of Science in order to add “the fuel of interest to the fire of genius in the discovery… of new and useful things.”  We would like wish a very special Happy Birthday to President Lincoln who was born on this day in 1809. To celebrate this day, check out our favorite Lincoln video and memorabilia.
